The ambitious water main replacement project in downtown Brighton is expected to last through the summer, wrapping up in the fall. The project includes the replacement of water main along Main Street and the adjoining side streets.
Brighton Mayor Wayne Schafer tells The Big Z the hope is to put the frequent boil orders behind them.

The project also includes fire hydrant replacements. Funding for the project comes through a low-interest USDA loan in the amount of about $1.5-million.
