Bridge work on the new walking trail circling Wright Lake at Belk Park in Wood River has begun.  City crews have been laying the rock base in recent weeks, and the materials for the new bridge was dropped off at the site on Monday.  Construction on the bridge began Tuesday

Park & Recreation Director Jason Woody tells The Big Z they expect the project to move along quickly.

Christ Brothers of Lebanon, Illinois will do the asphalt paving work on the path.  Woody says upgrades to the bathrooms at the park are also part of the plan to refresh the park.  That includes repainting, new light fixtures and possibly partitions if needed.
