The Madison County Health Department is urging all women to get regular breast and cervical cancer exams. Approximately 300,000 women in the United States are diagnosed with breast cancer each year. One in eight women are expected to have breast cancer in their lifetime.
Madison County Health Department Health Promotions Manager Amy Yeager tells The Big Z says early detection is one of the keys to beating the disease.

The health department is aligned with the Illinois Breast and Cervical Cancer Program, which assist women with no Medicare, Medicaid or insurance. For more information, call 296-6051.
