The old Ferris wheel that stood over Chicago’s Navy Pier is getting a new home.  Officials with Navy Pier are replacing the 150-foot wheel with one that stands 196-feet high, and a company in Branson, Missouri has purchased the old wheel.

The Track Family Fun Park purchased the wheel for $2.5 million and hopes to have it open this summer.  It seats 240 passengers at a time inside 40 compartments.  The fun park is celebrating its 35th anniversary this year.  Meanwhile in Chicago, Navy Pier is celebrating its 100th anniversary this summer and construction on the new wheel is underway.
