Organizations across the state are feeling the trickle down effects from budget cuts made in Springfield. Among them, is the Alton Boys and Girls Club, which recently had to stop serving snacks to kids due to a lack of funding. With that in mind, Al Womack, the Executive Director of the Alton Boys and Girls Club, is reminding the public about their first fundraiser of the year.

The Great Futures Dinner will be held on April 14 at the Commons at Lewis and Clark Community College.  Womack tells The Big Z the funds generated through this dinner will be a critical part of keeping the club’s services intact this year.

Womack says doors will open at 5:30 p.m. with the dinner to begin at 6 p.m. Tickets for the dinner are $50 per person and can be purchased at CNB Bank & Trust, Nautilus Fitness Center, Liberty Bank and CarrolltonBank.
