State Rep. Mike Bost is running for Congress. The Murphysboro Republican is making rounds in southern Illinois today, telling people why he’s the best person to represent the12th Congressional District. He says he wants to use his business savvy in Washington D.C. to help restore the nation’s finances and give job creators the resources they need to put people back to work.
Bost is giving up his seat in the Illinois House to run for Congress and so far, he’s the only Republican to announce a run in the 12th district. Jason Plummer ran unsuccessfully against Enyart in November of last year. The 12th district was up for grabs following the retirement of Jerry Costello, who had held the seat since 1988.
