At the regularly scheduled Bethalto Village Board Meeting last night, the Board voted to increase the salaries of the Village Clerk and The Mayor. Salaries of elected officials must be approved before the election and the board voted to increase the salaries 1-percent for both positions.

Mayor Winslow said that he would turn down the pay increase if he wins his bid for re-election. The Board also heard from a group of local businesses, asking to change the Village's ban on video gaming. That issue will be placed on the agenda for the next committee meeting.
