After a 33 career in the Bethalto School District, Superintendent Dr. Cindy Blasa will retire in June. She made that announcement last fall and was recently forced to start reflecting on her career thanks, in part, to events honoring her years of service to the district.
Prior to her appointment as superintendent in July of 2010, Blasa taught various grades and served as a principal in the district. She says he has enjoyed each position.
Blasa also says that she is leaving the district in a good place, with a new gymnasium complex under construction at Civic Memorial and plans to implement the 1 to 1 program throughout the district over the next couple of years. As for what's next for her, Blasa says that her and her husband will enjoy an extended vacation and that she is looking forward to spending more time with her grandchildren.
