Sunday is the 17th annual Blessing of the Bikes.  The event had humble beginnings in 1998, but has since grown to attract over 1,500 bikers to the Roxana Park.  A major part of the event is taking time to remember friends and loved ones who have died over the past year, including those who died while riding.

It's billed as a family friendly event, and co-organizer Larry Hatfield tells The Big Z this has become a must-attend event for many bikers.

Hatfield says there will be hot dogs, chili, soda and coffee.  It’s billed as a family friendly day.  Events begin at 11, with the blessing at noon.
