The sound of roaring engines will be heard all over the Riverbend on Saturday as the March of Dimes hosts their 11th annual Metro East Bikers for Babies event. The 62-mile ride will take motorcyclists and the other drivers participating in the ride from Ted's Motorcycle World in Alton, to Edwardsville and then down the Great River Road before ending at the Hawg Pit in Grafton.
The ride will take about an hour and 20 minutes and will likely raise more than $30,000. Last year's ride raised a little more than $40,000 and March of Dimes St. Louis Division Director Missy Tillman says that they are thankful to have the support of the community during tough economic times.
Tillman also recommends that you register before Saturday's ride because it is slightly cheaper. The cost to ride is $25 for a rider and $25 for a passenger in advance or $30 the day of the event. You can find out more by visiting www.bikersforbabiesmetroeast.org
