When Jake Bierbaum was left paralyzed following a rollover accident last December, members of the Fosterburg community started thinking of ways to help him and his family pay for the costs of medical treatment. After discussing a few options the Jake Bierbaum Benefit Horse Show and Family Fun Day was born.

The event, which will take place from 8 a.m. until aroun 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 30th and the Illinois Boots and Saddle Club will feature a variety of events including horse shows, different vendors and an area designed specifically for kids.

Event organizer Ariel Weinmann says that the reaction from the community hasn't been a surprise.

The benefit will also feature a silent auction which will include items like St. Louis Cardinals tickets, a baseball signed by Stan Musial and a custom made saddle. Gates open at 8 a.m. with the horse show and silent auction beginning around 1 p.m.
