Vice President Joe Biden is scheduled to visit the Riverbend tomorrow (Tuesday). He will be in town to stump for U.S. Senator Dick Durbin and other Democrats at a major fundraiser in Alton. The event will include a dinner in Alton and reception at the home of John and Jayne Simmons. Tickets to the reception start at one-thousand-dollars.
The local fundraising might also bring attention to a local Illinois Congressional race, featuring Democratic nominee, and former Madison County Chief Judge, Ann Callis who is challenging incumbent Republican Congressman Rodney Davis in the 13th District. Earlier in the day, Biden will join Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewell in St. Louis at the Gateway Arch. They're expected to discuss the CityArchRiverProject. The 300-million-dollar plan will link downtown with the Arch grounds.
