Two Bethalto Police Officers were recognized and an amendment was made to the special liquor licenses at the Bethalto Village Board meeting last night. The officers were honored for their part in resuscitating a man having a seizure last month. Sgt. Todd Lindsay and Officer Tim Klein were responding to a call that a man was possibly having a seizure and arrived as first responders, getting there before the volunteer fire department.

Officer Klein and Sgt. Lindsay saved his life by giving him CPR and getting him to the hospital within 24 hours. Bethalto Police Chief Greg Smock talks about his pride in these two officers.

The man did succumb to his illnesses 9 days later. Also at the meeting the special liquor licenses were amended to exclude Strykers Sports Grill which recently closed, taking the number of liquor licenses from 8 to 7.
