The Bethalto School District has hired a new superintendent.  Following a special board meeting over the weekend, the board announced it has hired Charles Stegall to take over this summer for the retiring Dr. Cindy Blasa.  Stegall comes from the Lawrenceville School District where he has been superintendent for the last five years.

Stegall also served as high school principal in Lawrenceville for four years prior to taking over as district leader.  He also has previous experience in teaching, coaching and administration in Missouri.  The Bethalto school District is about twice the size of the district in and around Lawrenceville, which is in southeast Illinois near the state line with Indiana.   Current Bethalto Superintendent Dr. Blasa is stepping down at the end of June following 33 years with the district.
