Following the lead of many other outdoor activities scheduled for Wednesday night, the Village of Bethalto postponed its Halloween Parade until Thursday night. Bethalto Police Chief Alan Winslow says everything will still run on the same time schedule, just a day later than originally planned.

That means the 68th annual parade will roll through the old downtown area beginning at 6:30pm today, starting at the tennis courts and finishing at the water department. Kids who want to participate should gather at the tennis courts at 6pm. Prizes will be awarded for costume creativity in different categories.  East Alton is also hosting its parade Thursday night, but Winslow does not believe that will cause many conflicts, citing different crowds at each event.   Wood River and Hartford hold parades on Saturday and Alton's parade is on Monday night.
