Fireworks are a part of the Independence Day Holiday, and this year is no different. For the past nine years, a big show has taken place over Bethalto at the airport, provided by Cornerstone Church. This year, the show takes place tonight at about 9:15, with music, food and games on the airport grounds starting at 5:00pm.
Lead Pastor Erik Scottberg tells The Big Z much will be the same as in years past, with one significant exception.

Before the fireworks, there will be pony rides, bouncers, and music on the airport grounds with the Roots in "Blue Air Force Band" and "Slow Down Scarlett." Food and drink will be for sale, and no alcohol or coolers are allowed on the airport grounds. Free parking is available at the airport and you should enter at the main entrance from Highway 111.
