The tennis coach at Alton High School is battling liver cancer, and a benefit is coming up in about a month.  Robert Logan found out he had the cancer on January 30, and had surgery shortly after.  He is now going through chemotherapy, as the cancer has worked its way into the liver ducts.  His uncle, Madison County Board member mike Walters, is helping organize a benefit on May 18 to help with his nephew's medical expenses.

The event will be held at the Riverbend Arena at Lewis & Clark Community College.  Doors open at 6:30pm on May 18, with the benefit running from 7-11pm.  There will be live music by The Stingers.  It's $15 per person or $25 per couple.  For ticket information, contact Joe Hook at Alton High School.  The number there is 474-2700.
