The Madison County Board is continuing its effort to assists parks in need of funding by issuing loans through the Park and Recreation Department. Among the latest recipients is Belk Park in Wood River, who will be using the money to buy lawn equipment.
Madison County Board Chairman Alan Dunstan says this type of loan is very common.
The loan is worth $85-thousand. Dunstan says they have made loans like this to several other park districts throughout the county and that they have never had any problem getting the money back.
