The state is offering financial assistance to those who may need help with their heating bills. State Representative Dan Beiser (D-Alton) says the LIHEAP program helps struggling families stay warm during the winter months.
Applications are being accepted at several locations across the Riverbend, including in Alton at Senior Services Plus and the Madison County Urban League office, or at the county facility in Wood River. Applicants will need proof of income, plus a recent heating and electric bill, a copy of their rental agreement, and proof that the household receives TANF or SNAP benefits. call Beiser's office at 465-5900 for more details.
