OSHA has fined the Cargill pork processing plant in Beardstown 114-thousand dollars for failing to protect its workers. OHSA says the plant failed to protect workers from unexpected machine start-ups at the plant. There were three violations. One is that Cargill did not document inspections on a piece of equipment.

The second violation was that employees were exposed to hazardous energy when working on the equipment and the third was that employees did not have adequate training.
