An Alton church is the host site today for a special drive to find bone marrow donors. Today is just the first step for the Be the Match organization to find potential donors who can provide life saving bone marrow for those who suffer from blood cancers like leukemia or lymphoma. The event takes place at St. Paul Episcopal Church in Alton from 10am to 2pm.
All that's needed today is a cheek swab from men or women between the ages of 18 and 44. Amy Brousseau of Be the Match says today's event is free, but it them requires a committment:

The church is involved in part because the pastor, Father David Boase, has a son who was diagnosed with lymphoma while teaching in Malayasia:
