The Alton Area Animal Aid Association has been helping serve the Riverbend area since 1959 as a non-profit, no-kill Animal Shelter.  The tenth annual "Bark in the Park" is being held in a few weeks at Godfrey's Glazebrook Park.  It is billed as a “friend-raiser” more so than a fund-raiser.

Carol Metzler is the 5A's Board of Directors President, and tells The Big Z the shelter and the Godfrey Parks and Recreation Department are teaming up with several partners for an afternoon of fun for the whole family.

There are a couple of other contests that will be held that day as well.  Again, the 10th Annual "Bark in the Park" at Glazebrook Park is Sunday, June 5th from Noon until 4pm.  Vendors and sponsors are still needed.  For more information call 466-3702
