A local bank has proposed becoming the exclusive sponsor of the Alton Riverfront Amphitheater. Liberty Bank of Alton was the lone proposal to the Alton Amphitheater Commission for a three-year, $150,000 sponsorship package that would include a number of incentives for the bank including naming rights of the venue during the length of the contract.
The proposal will now have to go before the Alton City Council for final approval. Mayor Brant Walker is hopeful of bigger and better things to come for the 4,000 seat venue at Riverfront Park in the years ahead:

Walker says there is a belief that the Alton Amphitheater can draw crowds with more national acts, and hopes with a new promoter, the right mix can be found between music groups, other entertainment, and community events. In its proposal, Liberty Bank would also design and construct an electronic message board at the venue that would advertise upcoming events and would also have the option for two, three-year contract extensions at the same rate of $50,000 per year.
