The Madison County Coroner’s Office has completed an autopsy while investigating the weekend death of a Pontoon Beach woman. The body of 53 year old Pamela Butkovich was found in an area referred to as Mallard Lake on Friday morning. The autopsy shows no signs of foul play or other suspicious findings that lead to her death.
Pontoon Beach Police responded to a call of a woman’s body floating in the lake just before 8 a.m. last Friday. The coroner’s office was contacted and responded to the scene at 8:45 a.m. Police say that her husband filed a missing persons report around the time her body was discovered. He told police that he found a note from his wife in their residence indicating that she might do harm to herself according to release from the Madison County Coroner’s Office. At this time, the death is being attributed to exposure and hypothermia. Routine toxicological analysis for the presence of alcohol and drugs remain pending at this time.
