It looks like the month of August will be cooler than normal, but maybe not one for the record books.  State Climatologist Jim Angel says the first week of August had an average temperature of 73 and a half degrees, which is about one point five degrees below normal.

It might be hard to beat state records though.  Angel says the coolest August was in 1915, with an average temperature of 67.2 degrees.
