Two of Roxana's Elementary Schools will be switched to attendance centers for the 2015-2016 school year. The decision, made earlier this week by the Roxana School Board, had been discussed previously and board members have decided it's time to make the switch from  "neighborhood" schools to attendance centers. Starting in the 2015 school year, South Roxana Elementary will house students in pre-kindergarten through the second grade while third through fifth grade students are served at Central Elementary. In addition to the switch, the school board has announced plans that will replace temporary classrooms at South Roxana Elementary with permanent ones, but exact details and a timetable for the project has not been released.
