The 10-year-old Jacoby Arts Center in Alton is on more solid ground today, as the community has offered financial support following news of the financial peril the center is dealing with. In late March, it was announced the center needed $85,000 to get out of debt, and the response has been great according to the center’s executive director.
Ron Abraham, who is now volunteering his time as executive director, says they can almost see the light at the end of the tunnel.

He says they cant breather too easy yet, as they still have that final 25% to go. There will be a fundraiser next weekend – a 50/50 live and silent auction, with half of the money raised going to the center and the other half going to the owner of the item being sold.
