The lower lanes of Route 67 between between the Clark Bridge and Highway 94 in West Alton are expected to remain closed for at least another day as the Missouri Department of Transportation pumps water off of portions of the roadway. MoDOT engineers met with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Tuesday morning to work on a timetable for reopening the roadway.
MoDOT Area Engineer Larry Welty says there is one area that is still covered by a few feet of water.
Welty also says that they haven't found any significant damage along the dry portions of the road and that MoDOT hopes to have US 67 completely reopened by Thursday morning
Further north, areas of Highway 94 will remain closed as crews wait for the North County Consolidated Levee District to remove barriers from the roadway. Welty said that they don't have a timetable for opening Highway 94 at this time.
