The Fourth of July is just a few weeks away and organizers are starting to put the final touches on the half dozen fireworks displays planned throughout the Riverbend. The Fireworks over the Mississippi display at the Liberty Bank Alton Amphitheater will take place on Thursday July 3rd and include a change to the popular concerts that have preceded the fireworks in years past according to Alton Convention and Visitor's Bureau Public Relations Director Jong Cambron.
He says there will be a price for admission to get into the amphitheater this year.

Cambron recommends arriving early for the event to ensure that you get the spot you want, especially if you plan to watch from outside the amphitheater. He also adds that there are also a number of other displays throughout the area scattered around the Fourth, including shows in Bethalto, Godfrey, Grafton, Fieldon and Jerseyville.
