Temperatures have been unseasonably cool over the last couple of weeks, just as the Wood River Aquatic Center opened for the season.  As a result, crowds have been a bit off, but temperatures are expected to warm this week to near 90 degrees.  That has the Recreation Supervisor in Wood River hopeful more people will be coming through the turnstiles.

Jason Woody says even with Raging Rivers closed for much of the past week, he doesn't think they have benefited much.

Woody comments

He says they have had to fix the water slide already, with a full week being spent to fix the various issues that arose.  It is now back in commission.  The pool traditionally opens Memorial Day weekend, but will close a couple of weeks earlier, instead of going all the way to Labor Day Weekend.  This year's closing day will be August 18.  As the flood waters decrease, Raging Rivers in Grafton is expected to re-open on Tuesday.
