From Memorial Day to Labor Day, the community will be able to swim, splash, and slide the afternoon away at the Wood River Aquatic Center. The man who is in charge of getting the facility ready is looking toward what needs to be done in the coming months.

Recreation Supervisor Jason Woody says a few maintenance issues will be worked out before the 2012 season opens, such as replacing one of the pool pumps in the pump room, painting, and repair to the structure that holds the slide.

Woody comments

Eventually, the parks and recreation department is hoping for funding to do an extensive overhaul of the facility.
