Temperatures were slightly above normal last month in Illinois.  The statewide average temperature for April came in at 54.1 degrees, which is 1.7 degrees above normal according to State Climatologist Jim Angel.

The latest U.S. Drought Monitor is not pointing to any major concerns for Illinois yet, although some areas in Western Illinois are considered to be abnormally dry.
