St. Ambrose Church in Godfrey holds its 21st annual Applefest this weekend on the parish grounds. Food including homemade apple pie and caramel apples, games, music, inflatables and more is being offered tonight and tomorrow night, along with a fried chicken lunch on Sunday. Music this evening features Dave Hylla's (hill-uh) Good Times Band from 8-11pm, and then tomorrow night from 8 to Midnight, it's Glendale Riders.
Applefest co-chair Katie Dixon says one popular event has been expanded to two nights:
Food will be served on the lower church parking lot tonight and tomorrow night, and Black Jack will be played in the beer tent. On Saturday from 5-7pm, an all you can eat spaghetti and meatball dinner will be served inside the community center, then Sunday from 11am to 2pm, an all you can eat fried chicken dinner will be served.
