It was another wet week for Illinois crops, with above average rainfall across much of the state.  Average statewide topsoil moisture increased this past week thanks to all the rain, and is now rated one percent very short, 74% adequate, and 22% surplus.

State Crop Statistician Mark Schleusener says 89% of corn is now in the dough stage.

89% of soybeans are setting pods, and 2% are turning color.  The condition of the crop is about the same as last week, with 79% in good to excellent condition although there have been some reports of sudden death syndrome.
