A Mexican International who was charged along with 25-other individuals as being part of a large cocaine distribution organization has been sentenced in fedral court. United States Attorney Stephen R. Wigginton has announced that 28-year old Daniel Ortiz, a citizen of Mexico who was living in Granite City, has been charged with one count of Conspiracy to Distribute and Possess with the intend to Distribute Cocaine. He was also charged with one count of Distribution of Cocaine and will serve 144 months in prison and five years of supervised release. The court also entered a Judical Order of Removal against Ortiz, so he will be deported from the United States following his release from prison.
Nineteen others have been sentenced in this case, the remainder are awaiting sentencing.
