Warm temperatures and well-timed rain kept Illinois crops in good condition over the past week.  77% of the soybean crop is rated in good to excellent condition, with 85% now blooming and 51% setting pods.  State Crop Statistician Mark Schleusener says 97% of corn is now silking.

13% of sorghum is turning color and 66% of oats have been harvested.  Average statewide topsoil moisture increased slightly to 1% very short, 5% short, 84% adequate, and 10% surplus.
