Now we have two Republican candidates running for governor.   Bruce Rauner entered Wednesday with a video on his website. “I’m running for governor to turn this state around,” he says in the video.   The video, which Rauner narrates, articulates complaints and shortcomings in Illinois – the pension under-funding, the business climate – but doesn’t get into the complexities of how to resolve them.

Rauner is the boss of a private equity firm in Chicago, where he sometimes lives. He also has a home in Winnetka. He’s said to be worth $1 billion and is expected to drop $30 million of his own money on the campaign.  State Treasurer Dan Rutherford is also in the race for the Republican nomination.  You can see the video here:
