Amtrak will add wi-fi service to several of its trains running out of St. Louis next year including trains running through Alton to Chicago. The hardware is currently being installed and should be activated by February. Among the lines getting the service are the four round trip Lincoln Service lines from St. Louis to Chicago every day, and the Missouri River Runner from St. Louis to Kansas City.
Other routes that will see wi-fi service include Chicago to Quincy lines and Chicago to Carbondale route. About 75-percent of Amtrak service nationwide already has the service and this addition will bump the total up to 85-percent. The service, called AmtrakConnect, will be free.
