Alton's Amphitheater has begun its fifth year of operation.  It got started over the weekend hosting a bicycle race on Saturday, just hours before the river took over some of the parking lot.  There are several ticketed events this summer as well, including the Feed the Need concert this Saturday, June 8 provided the river cooperates and retreats in time.

Alton Park & Recreation's Director Brad Cunningham says it's going to be a busy month, starting with this Saturday's bluegrass concert.

The venue annually hosts a variety of concerts, including the The Big Gig and the Mississippi Earthtones Festival, and this year will also see a series of events on Fridays, beginning June 14.  Looking ahead, country superstars Sawyer Brown will be in concert July 19.  Even with the river on the rise, Cunningham believes this Saturday's concert will be able to go on as planned.
