Ameren Illinois employees must enter customers' yards to work on natural gas or electric service equipment so they are asking that you put a "beware of dog" sign up even if you have a dog that has never been in trouble before. They ask that you never leash a pet to any utility equipment, which includes meters, poles, and guy wire. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, approximately 4.7 million people are bitten by dogs in the United States each year. For more information you can visit .
