Illinois American Water Customers in parts of Alton experiencing low water pressure in their homes or businesses should not be alarmed according to a company spokesperson. Karen Cotton says the issues reported this morning are likely tied to repairs in the affected area last night.

Cotton also adds that maintenance crews are working on the situation right now and that pressure should return to normal levels sometime today.
In another company matter, Cotton says repairs to the roadway impacted by the water main break in Godfrey last week are wrapping up this afternoon and that the area near the intersection of Godfrey Road and Celesta/Taylor Avenue should be reopened in time for the evening rush.
