Alton aldermen have approved an ordinance updating its rules for alcohol server training.  In the past, the city required anyone that was involved in the sale of alcohol to go through the training, but the city's Corporation Counselor Jim Schrempf tells The Big Z this change eliminates the requirement for clerks that work in stores that only sell package liquor.

This amendment changes the city's requirement to require only those who are serving drinks to go through the training, putting the city in line with the state law.
