The Alton Halloween Parade less than a week away, and will once again feature the usual floats, marching bands, and fire trucks. The East End Improvement Association continues to sponsor the event, which celebrates it's 98th edition this year. This year's Parade Marshall is Al Womack Jr.
The parade will start at 7:30 pm this Friday October 31 from Broadway and Washington Avenue, moving west on Broadway, wrapping up at Piasa and 9th Streets. Parade Committee member Stacey Ebrey says a portion of Broadway will be closed for parade set up at 5 p.m.

Between 30 and 40,000 people are estimated to enjoy the parade when the weather is good. If you aren’t able to make it to the parade in person, the Big Z will carry the parade on Friday night with coverage starting at 8 p.m.
