The 99th edition of the Alton Halloween Parade will be held tomorrow (Saturday) night. It steps off at 7:30 p.m. on Halloween night from Broadway and Washington and travels through downtown before wrapping up at Piasa and 9th Streets. A parade organizer says this is shaping up to be one of the biggest parades in recent memory.
Parade Committee Member Sue McCoy tells The Big Z the parade will feature a number of bands, fire trucks, floats and bands.

She says one float that has captured their interest is called “The Tornado,” which is a cancer-awareness entry from the Reese Family Racing Team from Jerseyville. The parade will stage along Broadway, which will be closed back to Main Street at 5p.m. The Big Z will carry the parade on Halloween night with coverage starting at 8pm.
