The weather was just right for the 96th annual Alton Halloween Parade.  It's one of the major factors in the size of the crowd, and with temperatures in the 40s, observers dressed in layers and waited for candy.  People of all ages watched as floats, bands, school groups and families marched along Broadway from Washington to Piasa.

Musical groups included the Alton High Marching 100, the Alton Middle School Band, the U Can't Beat Experience Jazz Band, the Southwestern High School Band, and the East Alton Wood River High School Band.  Winning floats this year included Alton Middle School in the Junior Youth Division.  Alton High School Cheerleaders in the Senior Youth Division; the Pruitt Family in the Family and Neighbor Division; Piasa Martial Arts in the Clubs and Organizations Division; and Orthopedic and Sports Medicine in the Commercial Division.   Longtime parade volunteer Larry Roberts was the Parade Marshal this year.  Live coverage of the parade was carried on Z-1570!
