Two officers from the Alton Police Department are being credited with saving the life of an elderly man over the holiday weekend. According to department officials, Sergeant William Brantley and Pfc. Jason Cole were dispatched the Clark Bridge at 6:30 a.m. on July 4th after receiving a report of a man threatening to jump from the Clark Bridge. The unidentified man was talked down from the outer wall of the bridge and transported to the Alton Police Department for counseling before being taken to Alton Memorial Hospital for further treatment.
