An Alton man will spend 6 years in jail for his crime of selling crack cocaine. 32 year old Doyltess Foster was sentenced this week to 72 months in prison for distribution of cocaine base. Foster pleaded guilty in the case back in August.

Prosecutors presented evidence of Foster selling crack to an undercover police informant at an Alton motel on January 8 of this year. At the time, Foster was on parole for a previous felony conviction. Alton Police and the Drug Enforcement Administration investigated the case and presented the evidence to the U.S. Attorney's Office which prosecuted the case.
