An Alton man is facing up to 45 years in prison after a jury found him guilty of home invasion, two counts of armed robbery, and possession of a stolen vehicle. 24-year -old Otis H. Harris was convicted yesterday after police interviewed witnesses who said they saw Harris in the car stolen during the home invasion.
Assistant State's Attorney Crystal Uhe said in her opening statement that two armed suspects entered a home in May of 2014, wearing hoods and masks. The men assaulted a couple while their infant was asleep in another room. The men then stole a silver 2004 Honda Accord. A co-defendant, Malik Carter, pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
