An Alton man has been charged with two counts of first degree murder in connection with the death of his ex-girlfriend earlier this week. According the charges filed Friday by Madison County State’s Attorney Tom Gibbons, 30-year old Cory L. Osborne allegedly shot and killed 35-year old Stacie A. Williams as she sat in her vehicle in a parking lot in Granite City on Wednesday. If convicted, Osborne faces up to 85 years in prison on the murder charge because it involved a firearm and would be required to serve the full sentence.
Osborne also faces one count of unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, which carries a maximum sentence of up to 14 years in prison. He will be transported from the Granite City Jail to the Madison County Jail where he will be held on a $2-million bond.
