Alton Little Theater is moving ahead with a planned expansion, although the group is taking baby steps as it begins the design phase. In April, the group announced a plan to begin working with a consultant on the project that would bring a new 350-seat auditorium and a remodeling of the current theater building to be used by the troupe as well as by outside groups.
Director Emeritus Diana Enloe says the process is in the very early stages and they are taking their time to get it right. The reason behind the expansion is that with the growth of the theater in recent years, they are running out of space:
ALT board members are assembling a committee to continue to study the expansion plan and work with consultants to finalize the details and map out a fundraising campaign. Those interested in the plans, or working on the committee, should contact Alton Little Theater for more details at 462-3205.
